different approaches of communications to reach to youth in order to increase awareness and change their behavior regarding smoking habit as a bad health habit. Most of smokers initiation are in teenage.

Attendees Scout leaders in youth Sector of the Ministry of Youth &Sport. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kamal  as a consultant in smoking prevention activities, explain the anti-smoking activities in different sectors of the population and different aspects of prevention. 

Discussion Dr. Mostafa Kamal gave a presentation about smoking materials and it's hazards on different body systems. Also he discussed the regulations and efforts in combating smoking.

Recommendation

 

 

  

It is directed mainly to scout leaders and their roll as a model for their relatives ,friends and families in the community .

Smoking is given as an example to be put as one of the major health problems facing our community and how the scout could reach this message to each individual in the community.

ESPRI's Journal Club

June 2nd , 2005


This journal club meeting held on Thursday June 2nd   at 1:00 to 2:00 at noon . The meeting was at conference Room 1st floor at Tropical Medicine Research Institute, 10 Kasr El Aini Street, Cairo, Egypt.

In this meeting, we discuss "smoking and burden of disease"

Dr.Rehab Abdel Rahman gave a presentation  about 
"Mortality in relation to smoking: 50 years’ observations on male British doctors"

 to illuminate the nested case control

 design.

to discuss Survival analysis Versus Nested Case control. 
When is the best time to use this design?

This meeting was attended by  ESPRI staff and a group of physicians who intrested in the topic. Dr.Christopher A. Loffredo and Dr.Mostafa K. Mohamed explain some points during the discussions.
